Stainless Guild
Our chainmail is uniquely crafted using only stainless steel rings. Unlike traditional chainmail adornments, they have a 125ksi (kilo pounds per square inch) which makes them extremely durable. These links are made from 304 stainless steel, which means they are considered nickel safe. Even though nickel may have been used in the production process, the small amount does not normally affect the skin, even for those with nickel allergies. During manufacturing any nickel salts are contained in the bonding process and should not leech into the skin. However, if you are worried about rare but severe allergies please contact me about alternative options, such as titanium (please keep in mind no metal is 100% safe from allergies).
Stainless steel is corrosion, rust, and tarnish resistant. It will keep looking great longer than other metals such as aluminum or copper. It is stronger than most metals, which means it has a heavier, more desirable weight. The strength of stainless steel also makes it more difficult to work with. It takes almost twice the amount of time to create stainless adornments than other chainmail pieces. However, I sought out to create jewelry that would withstand a hectic punk lifestyle. They are heavy duty, and if treated properly should stand the test of time.
Cleaning
Compared to other metals, stainless steel is one of the best options to ensure high quality color and shine throughout time. However, all metals can develop spotting and even discoloration. Cleaning your pieces can ensure that they maintain their vibrant shine and color. Use mild dish soap and hot water to gently clean your pieces. Do not expose your pieces to prolonged water, salts or other metals, for this may cause wear or discoloration. For a top shine, you may use an ultrasonic cleaner on only all chain stainless steel pieces.
